Will Tank Dell be better this season with his latest gunshot wound?
On April 27 in a bar in Florida, there was a shooting of ten people, Dell included. He got lucky with his wound, as it will heal and there will be no long-term damage on Dells body, and he can play football again this year. But, will he be the same player this year as he was his rookie year, now that he has this gunshot wound?
In his rookie year with the Texans, Dell only played in eleven games before he suffered from a broken fibula, and missed the rest of the season. But, in those eleven games Tank Dell had 47 receptions for 709 yards and 7 touchdowns, for a 15.1 yards per reception. Tank Dell finished fourth in the Offensive Rookie of the Year, just behind C.J. Stroud, Puka Nacua and Sam Laporta.
The truth is, with his injury history, Dell may never run the same. The good news is, just three weeks after he got shot, Tank Dell is already seen practicing and running routes. He will miss the OTAs this week and will miss most of the offseason workouts, but he will likely be back in mid-to-late July for training camps, and will is probable to start Week 1 with the Texans if nothing goes wrong. The Texans wide receiver room will be stacked this year with Dell as the WR 2 this season under Stefon Diggs, and just ahead of Nico Collins, Robert Woods, and Noah Brown.
