Will Mikal Bridges fantasy value decrease on the Knicks?
Mikal Bridges got traded to the New York Knicks on Tuesday night for Bojan Bogdanovic and multiple draft picks. To see what we think on Bogdanovic's fantasy value, click here. Now, we are going through the most important piece in the trade: Mikal Bridges on the Knicks. Now that he's on a "superteam", will his fantasy value decrease?
Last season on the Brooklyn Nets, Bridges averaged 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, playing in 82 games. Bridges had a seven point decease in points from 26.1 to 19.6. One of the best parts about Bridges game is that he hasn't missed a single game in his career. This is going to be his seventh season where he will look to continue the streak.
Bridges joining the Knicks makes them the clear second best team in the Eastern Conference, just behind the Boston Celtics. Their new starting lineup is now Jalen Brunson, Donte DiVincenzo, Mikal Bridges, Julius Randle and Isaiah Hartenstein. Bridges stats will likely stay around the same as last season, floating around 20 PPG, 5 RPG and 4 APG. This is because he will not have to carry the load as much as he had to in Brooklyn.
He will likely be the second option on the team behind Brunson, or even the third option behind Julius Randle. Either way, there is a very slim chance that Mikal Bridges gets his career highs this year and will likely be on our do NOT draft list. This is not saying that he won't help the Knicks out a ton, he just won't be helping your fantasy team.
