Will Nikola Jokic win his third straight MVP award this season?
Jokic has been nothing less of dominant so far this season, and he could be on pace to get his third straight MVP, and his fourth total MVP award. There is a few people that stand in his way though, and just if he can hold on to his so far historical season. In this article, we will be breaking down Nikola Jokic's season as well as seeing if he can win his fourth MVP this season.
So far this season, Jokic is averaging 29.7 points, 13.7 rebounds and 11.7 assists along with 2.7 stocks per game. The insane thing about Jokic averaging 30 points per game is that he is doing it while shooting 56.3% from the field and 56.4% from three. So, Jokic is averaging 30 points very efficiently while also averaging a triple double? If that just sounds impossible to you, that's because it's never been done before at the level that Jokic is doing it. He is leading the league in assists, rebounds and three point percentage. He's fourth in points and is carrying the Nuggets in almost every single game this season.
So, should Nikola Jokic win the NBA MVP this season? If he keeps up this pace, there is no doubt that he'll win it, which is very exhausting for the voters, as if Jokic didn't have the year he was having, he likely wouldn't win the award because of voter fatigue. But unfortunately for them, Nikola Jokic is having arguably the greatest offensive season ever of the modern era, and he will win his fourth MVP award this season. After this season, it might be time to be having serious conversations about Jokic in the top 15 or even top 10 all time list.
