Why Zach Edey will be the best rookie this year
Zach Edey was the ninth pick in this past NBA draft to the Memphis Grizzlies, and he has been playing good. His recent play has made many of us ask the question; How good will he be? Well good for you, we will explain just how good he will be this season.
Zach Edey this season is averaging 10.5/6.5/0.7 with about a block and half a steal per game through ten games at the writing of this article. Now, at firsthand these stats don't seem all that impressive, and we know they don't. But, you have to remind yourself that these are his stats through his first ten games of his profesional career. Also, Edey has shown incredible flashes of his potential.
One game that Edey has shown who he can become is on November 4, against the Brooklyn Nets. In the Grizzlies two point loss, Edey had 25 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. In this game he pretty much became Purdue Zach Edey, which is what we need more of in the NBA. The league hasn't had a tradional big be a star since the days of Nene. (Yes, this is a joke. Just wanted to shout out Nene.) But to wrap it up, do NOT be surprised if Zach Edey wins a couple Rookie of the Months, or even walks away with the Rookie of the Year.
