Why you should trade Gerrit Cole before it's too late
Gerrit Cole has undoubtedly been the best pitcher in recent years. And may or may not do that again next season, but we don't believe that it will be this year. This is because of his injury that he suffered in preseason.
Gerrit Cole is currently scheduled to come back off the 60IL on May 25. But he has not started throwing off a mound yet, which could be delaying to his scheduled return. Gerrit Cole injury could affect him in the worst way possible because he has been fairly healthy as of recent, and this injury will affect his speed and velocity which will increase his ERA and Whip.
Last year Cole won the AL Cy Young and many fantasy managers drafted him top 5 due to that reason. But Cole is going to be a let down. Last season Cole finished the season with a 15-4 record and 2.63 ERA through 209 innings pitched. This shows that Cole is capable of anything while healthy. That's the key at any time Cole can get injured like we have seen a lot throughout the last month with Spencer Strider and Shane Bieber, two amazing pitchers, and both dealing with an injury.
