Why the time is now to trade for Blake Snell & Max Fried
Two of baseballs best pitcher's, Max Fried and Blake Snell, have not had the best start to the season. Blake Snell has only gotten one game under his belt, and he had -9 fantasy points, or 3 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts, against the below average Nationals offense. Fried has gotten two starts, both of them ended with him playing awful as in two starts he has, 5 IP, 6 strikeouts, four walks, and 10 earned runs in two starts. Well it might be confusing, we are telling you to buy low on these two guys at the moment.
This offseason, many rumors were circlulating about where Blake Snell would end up. Then, about two weeks before the season, Snell signed with the San Francisco Giants on a 2 year, $62 million deal. This deal was later than expected for Snell, as he had to miss most of Spring Training, and missed the first couple of games while playing in extended Spring Training games. We suggest trading for Snell after his lackluster performance because many managers will look at his projections decreasing and panic after the first game, trading Snell for basicaly nothing. If you can try and steal Snell for someone who is playing hot right now like Ronel Blanco or Brady Singer, we would highly advise you to.
Max Fried also was watching the Snell signing, because if he would have signed with the Braves, Fried would've probaly been traded to another team, as he would be third in the Braves rotation behind Spencer Strider and Blake Snell. But, Snell signed with the Giants, and Fried stayed in Atlanta. With Fried's last two starts being horrendous, you might be wondering why we're saying to trade for him. The bottom line is, Fried is an overall great pitcher and just having a rough stretch right now. With Strider's injury having him likely being out for the year, Fried will come in as the ace for the Braves now, and will receive most of the workload. We advise again, to trade Fried for a lesser known player that is playing good right now, such as a Shota Imanaga player build.
