Why Nick Lodolo could be a top 10 fantasy pitcher
Nick Lodolo just came off the 15-Day IL, and many managers traded him or even dropped him. But when he came back, he proved that this year might just be his career year. Nick Lodolo's first two starts are why we think he could be a top 10 fantasy pitcher this season.
In Lodolo's first start against the White Sox, Lodolo pitched 5.2 innings, while striking out 10. In this game, he only allowed one hit and one walk. This start got him 28 fantasy points and he got the eye of many managers. But, some were still skeptical and thought this start was just a fluke. Then, in his start against the Angels on April 19th, he pitched 6.1 innings, had 6 strikeouts, gave up 7 hits and only one earned run. He got the win in both of these starts as this one got him 20 fantasy points.
Lodolo's 24 point per game average is first among active pitchers right now, and his strikeouts are a huge factor. The reason why Nick Lodolo is so good in fantasy is because he throws a lot of strikeouts. Think of Lodolo of a off brand Spencer Strider. He throws a lot of strikeouts, and doesn't give up a lot of runs. We think if Lodolo keeps up these performances, he could easily be a top 10 pitcher, especially since guys like Spencer Strider or Shane Bieber won't be pitcher this season. So, if Nick Lodolo got dropped into one of your leagues, try and pick him up. If not, try and trade for him or deal with him torching your team.
