Why Kyle Tucker could be the best fantasy player this year

05/22/2024

Kyle Tucker went yard twice in last nights game against the Los Angeles Angels. This year has been a career year for Tucker so far and he has shown why he got selected in the first round in every league. But, Tucker has the chance to be good at a historic standpoint, and have one of the best fantasy seasons of all time, and the best fantasy player this year.

Kyle Tucker on average, got selected around fifth overall in most redraft and roto leagues, so he was already a very good player. But, he has gotten off the year on a very hot start, and is currently tied for the second-best fantasy player with Mookie Betts in our rankings, and points wise. In his last five games, Tucker has an unbelievable 67 fantasy points, and is batting .391 with four home runs, seven RBIs and nine hits with eight runs scored.

So far this season overall, Tucker has posted a batting statline of .293/.425/.649 with 17 home runs, 36 RBIs, 11 doubles and a total of 51 hits. Tucker leads the MLB in home runs this season, and is playing better than his competition Mookie Betts. He has more home runs, RBIs, a better slugging percentage, and the same amount of doubles and fantasy points. Tucker has been the best power hitter in the league along with Marcell Ozuna, and Betts has been the best contact hitters in the league alongside his teamate Shohei Ohtani.

Speaking of Ohtani, Tucker and Betts are both right behind him in almost everything, so they have a chance to beat him out for the Fantasy Player of the Year. Once again, Tucker has more homers and RBIs, and a better slugging percentage. But, Ohtani leads the league in hits this year which is huge for fantasy. If Tucker wants to catch him, he would need to hit a lot more home runs. Either way, he has a shot to be the best fantasy player this season.
