Waiver Wire Pickups: Fantasy Baseball Edition- Week of 4/7
04/07/2024
Fantasy Baseball has just kicked off and some performances have gone your way, and some haven't. Maybe you won Week 1 or maybe you didn't. I know that my team got clobbered by my co-worker, which was just embarassing. But, for this week, there have been some studs that have flown under the radar, and were here to tell you who to add to your roster.
#5-Frankie Montas (32.0%)
Frankie Montas has been playing exceptional this year for the Cincinnati Reds, as in two starts with the Reds, he has had 11.2 innings pitched, he's had 9 strikeouts, 9 hits, three walks and has gone 2-0. His season statline of a 0.77 ERA which is just insane. Montas has had fantasy performances of around 24 and 14 in these two games, making him the third best fantasy pitcher so far this season.
#4-Ronel Blanco (31.9%)
Ronel Blanco may have had the best start to the season that any pitcher could have. He started off this season with a no-hitter, which notched him about 51 ish points in leagues, which makes it the highest single game performance this season, so far. It would be nearly impossible for Blanco to keep this up the entire year, but he showed every manager what he is capable of.
#3-Michael Conforto (43.4%)
Conforto has had a stellar start to the season, being the second best outfielder so far this season. He is averaging 9.2 point per game which is very good, and a surprise that a player of the caliber of Conforto is doing it. We think that Conforto could be like last years Adam Duvall, who had an incredible first month of two of the season before getting injured.
#2-Luis Campusano (55.7%)
Campusano is the starting catcher for the San Diego Padres, and he is having a great start to the new season. In fantasy leagues this season, Campusano is now the #1 catcher in points scored. This is wild since last week, he was only rostered in 8% of leagues. I would try and snag him in the waiver order to start him or use as trade bait.
#1-Brady Singer (56.5%)
Brady Singer is a starting pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, and despite only being drafted in about 9% of leagues, he is second in the Royals rotation behind their ace Cole Ragans. Singer had a monster first start for him, as in seven innings pitched, he had a whopping 10 strikeouts and only 3 hits. Through 2 starts, he is averaging 23.5 points per game, which is top 5 so far. Singer has made an excellent case to be added in over 90% of leagues, and we suggest to pick him up before it's too late.
