Waiver Wire Pickups: Fantasy Baseball Edition- Week of 4/29

04/28/2024

Once again, a new week of fantasy is here, and a new week of players that are breaking out and need to be onto your roster. Some guys might be going under the radar, and by looking at this article, you're going to get a head start on the players you need on your roster.

#5-Reed Garett (10.8%)

This relief pitcher is ranked as the eighth best relief and he's averaging 9.3 points per game. Since he's only rostered in about 11 % of leagues, he will be an easy pickup for you. In the last seven days, Garett has 20 points along with performances of 7, 11, and 15. A big part of his game is his wins, as he has a 4-0 record already this season. Either way, he will be a great pickup for your team.

#4-Albert Suarez (13.4%)

Albert Suarez is another starting or relief pitcher, pitching for the Baltimore Orioles. Even though he had -7 fantasy points on Sunday night with 7 hits and 4 earned runs in four innings. But, his last two starts are showing that last games performance was just a fluke. In both starts, he had 5.2 innings pitched, a combined 9 strikeouts and a total of zero earned runs. If your team is in need of a pitcher, then Suarez will be a great guy for your rotation.

#3-Wilyer Abreu (16.8%)

Abreu is a must have outfielder for your roster. He is ranked as the tenth best oufeilder this season with 106 fantasy points. Hes averaging about 5 points per game, and in his last seven games he has sixty points, and is averaging around 8.6 points per game. Since he is only rostered in 17 % of leagues, he will most likely be on the table for your league.

 #2-Bryce Elder (19.4%)

Bryce Elder is a starting pitcher for the Atlanta Braves and is averaging almost 10 points per game. This might sound bad, but his first start he had 21 points, followed by an off day on Sunday night. On April 22, he pitched 6.2 innings, threw four strikeouts, and gave up zero earned runs. Bryce Elder will be a great pitcher this season, and you need him on your team.

#1-Mitchell Parker (20.5 %)

Mitchell Parker is only rostered in 20% of leagues this year, and we predict this will skyrocket once managers realize his value. He has three starts this year, and is averaging 14.7 points per game. His best performance so far is on April 21, where he got 31 fantasy points. In this performance, he pitched seven innings, only gave up three hits, zero earned runs, and throwing 8 strikeouts. He also got the win in this start. Parker is one of the top pitchers in the Nationals rotation, and he will be one of the top fantasy players this year.
