Spencer Strider's injury; What should you do?
Spencer Strider suffered damage to his UCL on Friday night, and got a MRI test on Saturday. Reports are saying that Strider might need another Tommy John surgery, which would be the second in his career. Strider is widely considered the best pitcher in fantasy baseball, and heres what you should do if you have Strider on your team.
If Spencer Strider is on your roster, well first of all, that sucks. Injuries are a part of baseball, but it's terrible to have it happen to the best players. But, what should you do with Strider on your roster? We would highly advise to trade Strider as soon as possible, preferably before the MRI results come back. The members of your league will still take him, as if he doesn't need Tommy John, he's still the best pitcher for fantasy, as he's had 482 strikeouts over the last two years.
We suggest to trade Strider for guys like Blake Snell, Logan Webb, or even his teamate Max Fried. We think these guys are the best options because none of them have had great starts to the year, with Snell only starting one game with -9 fantasy points, Webb has had -3 points in three starts so far, and Fried has been terrible to start the year with -38 fantasy points through 2 starts. The thing is, these guys have all proven they can get it done, and are all aces on their team, as we consider Webb and Snell to be a two headed monster in San Francisco. All these guys are capable of being in a trade for Strider, and we think you should go after them.
