Sleeper Picks for the Olympic Golf Tournament
The Olympics are here, and so is the top golfers in the world going up to compete with each other. But in this article, we're not going to be talking about the favorites. We are going to be looking through a few of the sleeper picks this weekend that could potentially medal.
Tom Kim
Tom Kim is 40th in the FedEx Cup and 20th in the OWGR. He has two top-tens with a fourth place at the RBC Canadian Open and just barely lost to Scottie Scheffler in a playoff at the Travelers Championship. Kim can be very good, just like at the Travelers Championship where he led the field in G.I.R and Driving Accuracy. If he plays like that this weekend, their is a serious chance he can get a top-ten.
Matthieu Pavon
Matthieu Pavon from France is playing in his home country and he has a chance to medal this weekend. He's 16th in the FedEx Cup standings and 23rd in the OWGR. He already has a win this year at the Farmers Insurance Open. He has also done fairly well at majors this season, with a 12th at the Masters, Cut at the PGA Championship, 50th at the Open and a T-5 at the US Open. He has a real shot at getting a medal if he plays well this weekend.
Min Woo Lee
The Australian Min Woo Lee is 36th in the OWGR and he has a real shot at placing in the top-20 this weekend. He has two T-2 at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches and just recently at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He also has just recently went on a run of six straight top-26's and he could pick another one up this weekend at the Olympics.
