Sleeper Picks for the Arnold Palmer Invitational

Hideki Matsuyama (28-1)
Hideki Matsuyama is an unusual name for this type of list, but we aren't just going through guys that can make the cut this week, instead we're breaking down sleeper picks to win the whole tournament. Matsuyama is one of the first names that came to mind when we put that description in, and here's why: Hideki already has a win this season, as well as three top-25 finishes since that win at the Sentry. His main problem right now is his inconsistent driver, but if he pulls that together then Hideki Matusyama has a chance to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Patrick Cantlay (30-1)
Cantlay has been just all around good to start the season. He's ranked top-25 in every single strokes gained metric so far, and he seems to be hitting his stride. He already has two top-five finishes this season at Torrey Pines and The American Express. If Cantlay can stay hot on his putter, he has a shot for another top five performance or even better this weekend.
Viktor Hovland (+5500)
We were definitely surprised when we saw Hovland's name all the way down at just the 15th best odds to win this weekend. Yes, he has had a slow start to the season, but he's only been in three events so far. He has one top-25 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he finished 22 overall. We all saw what Hovland could do last season, and don't be surprised if he gets hot and wins it this weekend.
