Ranking the best pitchers for fantasy baseball in 2025: 1-10

#1- Tarik Skubal (DET)
There is really nothing else Skubal can do. 56.6% zone percentage is the best in the league, which means that over half of Skubal's pitches are going into the strike zone, which is just phenomenal. Skubal has an arsenal of pitches that he can throw at any time against any hitter. The only question with Skubal is if he can stay healthy because of his cross body throwing form, along with a prior Tommy John surgery. Skubal's ADP is around the same as Skenes and we would draft him around the same picks as Skenes in the first round, between picks 5-12.
#2- Paul Skenes (PIT)
The raining ROY is now second on our pitchers list. His ADP is around 12 with the highest being around 5th overall. There really is no concern at all with Skenes' game, but we just think that he hasn't gotten over the Skubal level hump yet. Statistically, Skenes has the best stuff in the game according to www.fangraphs.com and he just is an overall insane level pitcher. If he's there at the end of the first round, he would be a great pick or even if you want to reach for him earlier, we would recommend it.
#3- Zach Wheeler (PHI)
Wheeler is just like Skubal in the way that he has an array of pitches that he can use against you. Using the stuff plus metric on Fangraphs, Wheeler is right up there with Skubal and Skenes. Wheeler is a relatively safe pick because there is a little to none chance that Wheeler has a major injury this year. Wheeler is definitely a good pick for the start of the second round, and with an ADP around 17, we wouldn't blame you.
#4- Logan Gilbert (SEA)
Gilbert is on almost every list for all of the top pitchers lately, so it's no surprise why he's here. His Strikeout rate was at an all-time high last season at 27.4%, and his fastball is also getting faster still. With Gilbert, you have a lot less to worry about him because of his health and his consistency with his fastball. Almost every year in the league he's added a new pitch to his bag and each of them have worked out perfectly for him. If everything clicks, he could easily be a Cy Young candidate this year.
#5- Garrett Crochet (CHW)
Crochet has had the injury bug throughout his entire career, which is just extremely unlucky for him. Thankfully, last season he was healthy throughout the entire season, and we saw where he can be if he doesn't get injured. Expect nothing less this season from Crochet and he will be great from what we saw at the end of last season. He started last season with only two pitches, but after a while he gained three more pitches and is now a five pitch pitcher. With an ADP of around 35, he will be a great pitcher for your roster.
#6-Corbin Burnes (BAL)
Burnes is one of the only pitchers in baseball with an A health grade, which means that he is likely to not get injured this season. Burnes has a really strong command with the ball and his arsenal is great. His ADP is around the sixth pitcher off the board and around 30th overall, but we have him just behind Crochet. We hope that he keeps that ERA under 3.00 and gets the WHIP under one.
#7-Chris Sale (ATL)
Chris Sale is the reigning NL Cy Young but he is lower on this list because of his age and injury history. His injury grade is a F, which is reasonable given the past injuries that he's had. But if he plays, Sale is very good and will be a very good pitcher this year. I mean, this is a guy who had a 18-3 record last season with a 1.01 WHIP and a 2.83 ERA. Just know what you're getting into if you draft Chris Sale.
#8- Jacob deGrom (TEX)
deGrom is another one of those pitchers that are really good if they stay healthy this season. His current innings projection is at around 140, which would be great for him. If he does get to the 140 mark, then he could easily slip into the top ten of pitchers and maybe even the top five. deGrom's issue is his past Tommy John surgeries and his age. He has to pitch his way into the Hall of Fame in these last few seasons, so expect deGrom to go all out soon.
#9- George Kirby (SEA)
George Kirby has an unbelievable command, but because of that doesn't get as many strikeouts as he can because of that. His K% is right around 23% right now, which has been plateauing for his entire career. His 3.53 ERA from last season is very deceiving as he had right around a 3 ERA until his blowup in August, where he had a 6.53 ERA.
#10- Cole Ragans (KC)
Ragans pitched very well for the Royals last season and brought down his walk rate to 8.8%, which is fairly good. Ragans has had two Tommy John surgeries in his career, but he's still at an A health grade. His health is not really a risk anymore for this upcoming season compared to the past. His fastball dropped around two MPH throughout the season last year which may be a problem this season. Ragans overall will be a top ten pitcher this season and with an ADP of 38, we recommend drafting him around there and watch him pitch his way into the AL Cy Young this year.
