Marvin Harrison Jr.'s potential for fantasy in 2024
Marvin Harrison Jr. is the projected #1 wide receiver off the board at the 2024 NFL Draft. He is also one of the highest rated receivers coming into the draft in the last decade. The real question is though, how good will he be in fantasy this season?
In college last season, Marvin Harrison Jr. had 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns. His best game of the year came against Michigan St., where he had seven receptions for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns, along with one rush for 19 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Harrison Jr. is widely regarded as the best receiver prosepect in this draft class, and even in the last couple seasons. But, how will play to the NFL DB's and other wide receivers? We predict Harrison Jr. to be around a top 20 wide receiver for fantasy PPR leagues this season, similar to a Tank Dell before he got hurt. In our pre draft rankings, we actually have him right before Tank Dell and guys like Tee Higgins as well.
He's projected to go at the fourth or fifth pick in the NFL Draft, wich would bring him to the Cardinals or the Chargers. If he goes to the Chargers, his fantasy value would skyrocket because he will have Justin Herbert throwing him the ball, and put into a great system. But, we don't think that Jim Harbaugh will draft him, and the most likely outcome is that he gets picked by the Cardinals. If he does go to the Cardinals, his fantasy value will be questionable, with the Cardinals being so horrendous last season. Our best comparison for "Maserati Marv" is either Ceedee Lamb or, ironically Marvin Harrison Sr. We think his build and overall playstyle best resembles these players, and dont be shy to pick Marvin Harrison Jr. in this years draft.
