Is it time to give up on Keon Coleman?
Keon Coleman has had a rough start to the season to say the least. The Bills second round pick has struggled, to say the least. But, even throughout his constant disappointment, there might still be some hope for Coleman, which is exactly what we are going to discuss in this article. Is it time to give up on Keon Coleman?
In three games as the one of the Bills top receivers, Coleman only has five touchdowns for seventy five yards and a touchdowns. Coleman has moved from probable WR1 on the Bills to the second or maybe even third on the receiver depth chart. Coleman caught 50 balls last season at Florida State for 658 receiving yards and eleven touchdowns.
On Monday Night's game versus the Jaxsonville Jaguars, Keon Coleman got benched for the first quarter of the game. The good news though, is that this was not a performance based sit. Head Coach Sean McDermott said that Coleman was benched for being tardy to a practice earlier in the week. Other good news is that after getting benched, Coleman caught is first career touchdown pass, which was a 24 yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen in the second quarter of the game.
So, time for the big question. Is it time to give up on Keon Coleman? By give up, we mean trade Coleman for scraps or even just drop him. The thing is, it would be nearly impossible to give up on Keon Coleman just yet. He has only played three games, and he has shown some flashes of the great receiver he can become. But, this doesn't mean that you should start him either. We suggest that you stash Coleman on your bench until he has the game where he "pops off" and then you can finally start Keon Coleman in your lineup.
