Fantasy Player of the Week- 5/31
Jose Ramirez
Jose Ramirez has arguably been the best third basemen in baseball, and this week he showed why. He delivered 89 fantasy points over the last seven games, for an average of about 12.7 points per game. He has had four home runs and 14 RBIs in this span, the most RBIs by any other player in the last week.
This spectacular week was headlined by a 25 point fantasy performance on May 24, where he went 2/4 with two home runs and four RBIs. This week made Ramirez officially the best fantasy third basemen in the MLB right now, and he looks to continue his hot streak of games. Ramirez said that he is better than Barry Bonds, so let's see if his production will be as great as Bonds was.
Mackenzie Gore
Mackenzie Gore was tied for the most fantasy points this week along with Ben Brown, but we already have talked about Brown in Why it's time to add Ben Brown. Mackenzie Gore had two starts this week adding up to 44 fantasy points, and in the two starts he had a combined 12.1 innings pitched, only ten hits given up, two earned runs, a walk and 18 strikeouts in this dominant stretch.
Gore was pretty consistent in his games, with one performance having 25 fantasy points and the other having 19. In the 25 point game, he had eight strikeouts, four hits, and one earned runs in seven innings pitched. If Gore can go on a hot streak with more performances like these, than he can be a sneaky free agent pickup since he is only rostered in 19.5% of leagues.
