Fantasy Baseball Player of the Week- 7/7

07/06/2024

Christian Walker

Christian Walker has clearly been the best player in baseball this past week, and part of the reason is that he is just so good against the Dodgers. In the last seven days, Walker is batting .520 with a 1.240 OPS. He also has five home runs, eleven runs batted in and 13 hits.

In points leagues, Walker has had an incredible 112 points in the past week, with an average of 18.7 points per game. Walker has vastly improved into the third best first basemen in all of fantasy, and this week is a big reason why.

Jake Irvin

Just like Christian Walker, Jake Irvin is miles ahead of the pack this week. He had a 2-0 record, thirteen strikeouts, four walks, two hits and one earned run. This equated to a 0.64 ERA and 0.43 WHIP, all in 14.0 innings pitched this week.

Irvin had an insane 56 fantasy points this week for an average of 28 points per start. This may just seem like a normal week, but Irvin has 18 more points than the second highest pitcher this week, which is a full start. So, Irvin was so dominant this week that he had more points in two starts than most pitchers get in three or four.
