Dynasty Draft: Whos the #1 Overall Pick?
A dynasty fantasy baseball league is a league where you keep around 20 ish players every year and draft prospects, or younger or older players who people have not drafted or dropped because of age. Usually, the best players for dynasty are younger guys who are still really good. In this article, we will be going over who should be the first pick in your dynasty leagues, and some close seconds.
The #1 overall pick
Well, the thing is, I kind of lied. It's really not that close for the #1 overall pick in your dynasty leagues. It's Ronald Acuña Jr. It's not particularly close. The reigning National League MVP is coming off a season where he hit 41 homers, stole 73 bases, all while batting .337 from the plate and having a whopping 1.012 OPS. The best part of all this is that Acuña is entering just his age 26 season, so if you draft him in dynasty he will still have 7-8 good years before the decline.
The other guys...
Honorable Mentions
Bobby Witt Jr.
Bobby Witt Jr would be a great pick if you got the second or third pick. The 24 year old shortstop hit 30 home runs last year while stealing 49 bases. He got 7th in MVP voting in just his second year in the league, a very impressive feat. He batted .276 with a OPS of .813.
Corbin Carroll
Carroll is only 23 years old and already receiving MVP votes, as he got 5th last year a well as taking home a ROY award. He plays every position in the outfield, as well as some DH. Last season, Carroll batted .285 from the plate 54 stolen bases and a league high 10 triples.
Julio Rodríguez
Rodríguez came in hot into the league, winning the ROY award and also being an All Star and Silver Slugger. Last year, again he was an All Star and Silver Slugger, and also getting 4th in the MVP voting. He hit 32 homers and batter .275 with a OPS of .818.
