April's Best Fantasy Lineup- Pitchers Edition

05/03/2024

This first month of the season has been filled with great pitchers, but these will be the best of the best. We will be disclosing the best five starting pitchers from this month and one relief pitcher. There will be some picks that might turn some heads, but you can trust that they are the right picks.

Ranger Suarez

Ranger Suarez has surprised everybody and has been the best pitcher in baseball so far. His last five starts, he has had games of 32, 29, 38, 27, and 14. This season, he has a 5-0 record and an incredible 1.32 ERA. He also has 40 K's on the season in 41 IP so he's averaging about a strikeout per inning. We don't know how long Suarez will continue his dominant streak, but it was great while it lasted for him.

Shota Imanaga

Right behind Ranger Suarez, Imanaga might be the biggest surprise of the season. The 30 year-old rookie has a total of 124 fantasy points on the season, and he is averaging 20.7 points per start. In his 34.2 innings pitched this season, he has a total of 35 strikeouts with a record of 5-0. He has the lowest ERA in the MLB with 0.78. On the entire season, all 34.2 innings, he only has 4 walks, which is just incredible. What's also incredible is what he's been doing in the month of April, and what he will continue to be doing.

Tarik Skubal

Skubal is the first guy on the list that was actually expected to be here. In the preaseason Cy Young rankings, Tarik Skubal was ranked third on that list, and now he is showing why. He is ranked as the third best pitcher so far this season, only behind Suarez and Imanaga. He is also averaging 18.8 points per start with a total of 113 points. On the season, he has 41 strikeouts, a 1.72 ERA, and also a impressive 4-0 record. Skubal makes his next start on Sunday vs the New York Yankees, where he looks to continue his front running campaign for the AL Cy Young.

Tyler Glasnow

Tyler Glasnow, along with Skubal, was projected to be very good this season. How good would he be though, is the question. Glasnow has been mostly dominant this season with a 5-1 record, with his only loss coming in a terrible start against the Nationals. Other than that performance, Glasnow has been outstanding this season, averaging 15.1 points per start and a total of 106 on the season. He leads the MLB with strikeouts this season with 53, and he is currently third on our NL Cy Young ballot, where he looks to improve in his next start coming on May 4th against the Braves.

Ronel Blanco

Technically Blanco is listed as a reliever pitcher before a starting pitcher, but his only appearences have been starts. This season he has 103 fantasy points with an average of 20.6 points per start. His best start so far was his first, where he threw a no-hitter against the Blue Jays where he had a whopping 51 fantasy points. In that game, he only had two walks and also seven strikeouts along with the win. After this incredible performance, Blanco hasn't necessarily fallen off, but he hasn't had any performances close to that one.

Clay Holmes

Clay Holmes is the one relief pitcher on the list, and it's safe to say he's been the best. Ranked as the number one relief pitcher, Holmes has averaged 6.1 points per game and a total of 93 points on the year. Holmes has been needed for the Yankees almost every other game this season, and he has not disappointed. So far, he has 10 saves on the season along with one win. He also has zero blown saves as well, an impressive feat in it's own. If any relief pitcher could compete with the best starting pitchers, then it would be Holmes as he would be ranked as the 12th best starting pitcher this season.
