April 2nd Fantasy Baseball Insight

04/02/2025

Today is the second day of the Fantasy Baseball insight, and we are going to get into it a little bit more. Yesterday we correctly predicted Shane Baz's breakout game, and Carson Spiers played alright for the Reds. Spencer Torkelson and Teoscar Hernandez both didn't have good games last night, so it's a good thing you listened to us and benched them. So, let's get right into it because today is the day where all of the best pitchers are pitching, so we have a lot to talk about.

Pitchers to Stream

Mackenzie Gore Silently had one of the best Opening Day performances by a starting pitcher this year, and yet there's still 20% of leagues where he is not rostered. Before the season started, he was 50/50 on if he was being rostered or not, but now it's 80/20. Gore has an easy matchup today against this terrible Blue Jays team, and he is going to go to work on them.

Sean Burke is another really easy guy to stream, and honestly just add to your roster because after Garret Crochet left for the Red Sox in the offseason, Burke is now the ace moving forward for the White Sox. After a really good Opening Day, he is still only rostered in 16.6% of fantasy leagues, and with a good matchup against the Twins today, his rostered percentage will just keep rising and rising.

Our last pitching streamer for today is Clay Holmes. Holmes had a relatively disappointing Opening Day, as he pitched 4.2 innings and gave up five hits and two earned runs. But, he is still a top pitcher in baseball when he's on his A-game, and with a really easy matchup today against the Marlins, we expect 6-7 innings of smooth baseball with around 6 strikeouts and only one run given up.

Matchups to Look Out For

We would look out for Marcus Semien against the Reds today. Semien is playing horrendously so far this season and is batting just .087 so far. His matchup today, Hunter Greene, threw five innings on Opening Day and struck out eight. Semien is not going to fare off well against Greene today, and for that matter I don't think any of these Rangers will. In two games so far against the Reds, they have failed to put up more than three runs in a game.

Our second and final matchup to look out for is the Rays against Paul Skenes today. Skenes is arguably the second best pitcher in baseball, and this Rays team minus Junior Caminero have been awful at hitting the ball so far this season. Skenes is going to have a field day at 1:10 today, so hurry up and bench your Rays players.
